Pinnell/Busch, Inc. is one of the
leading construction and management
consulting firms in the Pacific Northwest. For over 25 years we have
worked one-on-one with most of the largest and oldest construction
companies in the region and many of the smallest and newest. Our services
include partnering, scheduling and estimating construction projects,
project development, bringing projects in on time and on budget, resolving
disputes, troubleshooting, and training. More than 400 clients call
our technical training essential to their success on individual projects
and at a company level. |
You may choose to work
with us at a public seminar, an in-house
seminar, a university course, or in one-on-one coaching. Courses range
from basic jobsite management to corporate level strategic planning and
Bottom Line ManagementSM training and implementation.
They include the AGC’s Supervisor Training Program (STP), which our
staff has taught for over 15 years. The STP course includes plan reading,
estimating, scheduling, contracts, and the entire range of skills necessary
for a small contractor to start and run a successful business. We have
also been trainers for the Project Management Institute (PMI), Portland
State University (PSU), and various industry associations.
We have gained substantial success
in M/W/ESB support contracts with the Oregon Department of Transportation,
the Portland Development Commission, the City of Portland, the Port
of Portland, Multnomah County, Tri-Met, and general contractors. Numerous
direct contracts with M/W/ESB firms have proved beneficial to all
parties.
We are actively involved in strengthening the minority
business community, and are members of associations and councils that
include:
 |
Associated General Contractors
(AGC) Minority
and Women In Construction Committee of the Oregon-Columbia Chapter |
 |
Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)
developing minority contractor programs |
 |
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce |
 |
Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs
(OAME) |
 |
Native American Chamber of Commerce |
We have joint ventured and subcontracted with
minority and women owned firms, and have assisted numerous individuals
and small firms in starting their businesses. In addition to extensive
experience with M/W/ESB construction contractors, we also work with M/W/ESB
consulting firms and with small businesses ranging from restaurants to
copy centers.
|
| We work closely with a
number of minority outreach and diversity firms and other organizations
involved in developing M/W/ESB programs for public works agencies.
As public works management consultants we
often address M/W/ESB program concerns. An example is our Management
Alternatives Study for the City of Portland’s $750 million Combined
Sewer Overflow Program.
Previous contractors and agency clients include American Building
Construction; EIR Electric; Pro Landscape; Kline Masonry; McCalib
Concrete; Northwest General; Schnauzer Construction; Sundown Electric;
Port of Portland; Portland Development Commission; City of Portland; Housing Development Commission; Oregon Department of Transportation;Tri-Met. |
In addition to our own staff, we make available
the resources of a number of affiliated firms with specialized skills,
including attorneys, CPAs, and specialty trade estimators. And, we
can access additional estimating and project management expertise
through contractor clients that we have worked with before. A significant
number of our subconsultants are M/W/ESB firms, and we can meet M/W/ESB
participation goals for our services.
Through building alliances with M/W/ESB firms, we have not only been
successful in securing future work, but have strengthened the competitiveness
of our alliance partners.
For example, we have a long-term relationship
with TAP Resources, a W/MBE/ESB Human Resources consulting firm that
provides recruitment and HR consulting support to all types and sizes
of companies. |
