Summary of Investigation and Findings:
Pinnell Busch Inc. performed a thorough investigation of the Marquis Vintage Suites. Based on our invasive testing results, we determined deficiencies in: improper installation of the weather resistive barriers, improper integration of siding and flashings, and improper integration of materials at windows and penetrations. A remediation scope and detail drawings were prepared by Pinnell Busch Inc., and a qualified repair contractor was selected.
Summary of Work Completed:
A mock-up of the building skin was prepared and tested to ensure the waterproofing details would be constructed properly and ensure the system worked correctly before construction on the actual building began. Pinnell Busch Inc. had oversight of the project during construction in order to ensure proper waterproofing details and directions were followed.
Pinnell Busch Inc. performed a thorough review of the construction budget and overall project schedule. This review was instrumental in the successful completion of the project.
While under construction, Pinnell Busch Inc. conducted weekly site observations to document the repair process and ensure the contractor was performing all work in accordance with the specifications and drawings. This oversight resulted in a successful completion of the building’s remediation.

Mr. Mockford provided oversight during the initial building investigation, and then performed the role of architect of record through the complete construction remediation process. He also served as the chief expert for the owner through all meetings, negotiations, and arbitration hearings. His expertise was utilized to design envelope details, and ensure proper means and methods of construction processes at key points throughout the project.
Alan Taylor

Mr. Taylor was a key designer and waterproofing expert throughout the development of all waterproofing details for the building enclosure re-construction. He also was the main point of contact for the construction firm selected to do the remediation work. His weekly site observations were essential to the finished success of the project.
Robert Harp

Mr. Harp was the chief investigator of the initial investigation, and his thorough analysis and findings, partnered with expert opinion of Mr. Mockford and Mr. Cadd, successfully identified the building envelope conditions and problems. He drafted a scope of repair, coordinated repair bids from contractors, and reviewed them for completeness to provide accurate estimates to the owners.

Mr. Cadd coordinated the project investigations, reviewed the building’s conditions and provided analysis in order to prepare a comprehensive scope of repair. He reviewed and refined the proposed repair scope and weatherproofing details, as well as reviewed the building mock-up in order to to ensure its proper function and assembly.
